This is the proceedings of the National Seminar conducted by the Centre of Advanced study in Sanskrit, University of Pune Some 26 articles are included in this volume presented by Emenent scholars from different parts of the country like Prof. G. U. Thite, Prof. S. K. Lal, Prof. H C Patyal, Prof. P.C. Kharavandikar, D K., Prof. Jayanti Tirpathy from Pune, Prof. Madhusudan S. Penna, from Nagpur, Prof. B.B. choubley, from Punjab, Prof. Sindhu S Dange from Bombay, Prof. G K Dash from Odisha and Prof. Banamali Biswal from Allahabad. There are two excellent survey articles -one by Prof. G. U. Thite and the other by Prof.S.K.Lal. Prof.Thite has very rightly underlined and indicated the perspective of research in the Vedic field as an introduction to Vedic studies, its status in the present day, the shortcomings and the pitfalls in doing research in Veda. Prof. Lal presents a evaluative survey of researches on Veda of last decade and had made decisive comments on the present day research trends. There are few articles on critical analysis of concepts like one by Prof S Dange, Prof. Sathe,Prof. BanamaliBiswal and Prof. P C. Sahoo.
On the occasion of birth centenary year celebrations of The late Professor R. N. Dandekar (Ramachandra Narayan Dandekar) the first Director of the Centre, a National seminar was organised. A large number of Vedic scholars from different parts of the country participated in the seminar and presented their research-papers and the present volume incorporates the proceedings of the seminar.
In all some 26 articles are included in the volume. Eminent scholars from the different parts of the county have contributed to this volume like Prof. B.B. Choubey from Punjab, Prof. Sindhu S. Dange from Bombay, Prof. G. K. Dash from Odisha, Prof. Banamali Biswal, from Alahabad, Prof. G.U. Thite from Pune, Prof. S.K. Lal, Prof. H. C. Patyal, Prof. P.C. Sahoo, Prof. Jayashri Sathe, Prof. R. Now it is our pleasant duty to record our gratefulness and express our thanks to those who have directly or indirectly helped us in organizing the celebration and publication of this volume. To start with, it was Prof. P. G. Lalye who has a major share of contribution right from its inception till its completion. He has always served as an academic director of all our activities. Prof. S. K. Lal who has great regards and appreciations towards Prof. R. N. Dandekar, has read most of the portions of the volume and his constructive suggestion have improved the quality of this volume. We sincerely record their involvements and academic cooperation in our research programmes. We heartily thank to all the contributors for their research papers.
