This book is meant for the students of secondary and senior secondary schools to make the understanding of basic calculation of Mathematics in a easier way. This book is also useful for the students who are preparing quantitative aptitude and Mathematical reasoning for some state civil services examinations. The attempt has been made to present the formulae in a very simple way so that the students can understand and apply them in abstract and logical reasoning also.
This book has been divided in to eighteen chapters. The chapter zero tells why this book has been written. In Chapter 1 to 17 I have given the sutras and their explanation. In this book, the text has been profusely illustrated through a sufficient number of solved examples to make the principals clear, enabling the students to solve unsolved problems given in the end of each formula in the form of exercises. For better understanding of these sutras and subsutras the relation of some sutras with modern mathematics has also been provided.
I am grateful to the persons who have contributed to this book, both directly or indirectly, specially my friends and colleagues who have inspired me to write this book. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to my wife Komal and my family members for their moral support, encouragement and inspiration during the writing of this book.
Finally I am thankful to Mr. Manmohan Sharma, Anuradha Prakashan New Delhi, for Publishing, editorial and publicity and his help and support in bringing out this book.
