Character education promotes moral development in a multicultural society. Today, children cannot be initiated towards this aim by a mere provision of dos and don'ts. Instead they need to be given orientation by enabling them to make choices and decisions on what is right and the best for all.
In order to develop these attitudes, skills and competencies in children, the institutions of family and school have to make a conscious effort to promote value-based skills. Our series, Values for Life is an attempt to integrate awareness of 'moral virtues' into the school curriculum; teach children to internalise these moral virtues as a part of their identity and learn to express this moral identity in their relationships.
The series Values for Life is an effort of FK Publications to empower the students of today to become responsible citizens of the country and the world, tomorrow.
Children need to learn to master skills for living and need to be taught to cherish the virtues necessary to use their skills in a balanced way.
