Preface
Since its beginning in 2013 at the initiatives of the Society for Biblical Studies in India, the NEISBS has been trying to bring together biblical scholars from Northeast India for the purpose of finding ways and means to interpret the Bible meaningfully for and from the context/ perspectives of the people of Northeast India. From a small group which was confined only to a few theological institutions within Northeast India, the NEISBS has grown in size and, as of now, it also includes scholars of Northeast India who are serving in theological institutions and Christian organizations in other parts of the country. Perhaps, it should not be forgotten that right from its inception, the group has always been ecumenical since it includes scholars from various denominations and institutional affiliations/accreditations.

Introduction
