The Constitution upholds democratic principles, including the value and beliefs of competitive multiparty democracy. fundamental rights, adult franchise, periodic election, freedom of press, rule of law, and an independent, impartial and competent judiciary. With such principles as its foundations, the Constitution of Nepal, 2015 has established a system of governance as desired by the people. This document stands before the international community as one with modern values that Nepali citizens aspire for. At the same time, the Constitution is an organic document which may be amended as per the need, desire and demands of the people.
