Kushwahas, Kurmis and Yadavas have rich history. They had ruled the India way back. Many efforts have been done to trace the roots of these castes. Now the time has changed and these castes have taken different shape. Social dynamics is changing. Time also came when government formed the Mandal commission and later that changed the politics of India forever. This book is trying to locate the roots and ethnicity of these above mentioned castes. The book has main emphasis on the origin and their further developments.
Dr. Arvind Kumar by profession a Physician has keen interest in studying the sociology and philosophy. That helped him understanding the roots of caste based system of Indian Society. He just not wanted to keep these things with him so he painstakingly jotted his all studies based on caste and its origin in India. Dr. Arvind Kumar got his MBBS from Jamshedpur and MD from Ranchi and appointed as a medical officer. Currently he is serving as a senior medical officer in Samastipur district of Bihar. Till now he has attainted 15 seminars at national and international levels on various fields. He also works for social cause such as upliftment of women and poor students. He is a prolific writer and great orator. This book is a showcase of his hard work and great enthusiasm.
As per one of the objectives of the study, the old established social status has been compared with the present socio-economic status and subsequently three categories of castes have been identified during the study made by the author Arvind Kumar for his latest book "Trace of Roots of Backward Caste: A Study Based on Kushwahas, Kurmis and Yadavas". After a long effort made by government of India, freedom fighters and social workers such as Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, Jyotiba Phule and many more have become a little successful in changing socio- economic status of backward and downtrodden people of India. From the current studies we can see that social stratification is changing. However, in the process of change, status of these castes has changed. They are shifting from their traditional work to present demand of the society such as receiving good education and entering into the main stream of workforce. Kushwaha, Kurmi and Yadav caste has made noticeable progress in their social and economic status. Author has made a great effort in identifying the roots of the backward communities, their kingdoms, their rulers, and downfall and again their rise in modern India and noticeable progress in their social and economic status.
In order to understand the social structure of a country or a region, the thorough understanding of demographic aspects along with historical, cultural and economic aspects is imperative. The social dynamism reflects the capacity of any community to transform itself in response to the modern changes of the society. Present book has been written with keeping in view that the text should give the all the details of caste and their hierarchy. Discrimination on the basis of caste has been common in social, economic and political sphere as well as settlement for generations. On the basis of socio- economic status of various castes, the change in hierarchy of can be ascertained. This book has main focus on the growth and development of Kuswahas, Kurmis and Yadavas. The objective of study was to assess the socio- economic status of above mentioned three castes especially in terms of their traditional social hierarchy and to find out the socio-cultural - religious -economic factors. The book has dealt with all the necessary facts and figure which can leave an imprint for the further studies in this field.
