The book "Theism of Udayana with special reference to Nyaya- Kusumanjali" is based on Udayana's (984 AD), Nyaya Kusumanjali. This treatise is probably the last one in the Gautama era.
Udayana's approach is a new one different from other authors'. Though the aim is to prove the existence of the Omnipotent, the method of Udayana is something special. He gives importance to discrepancies prevailed at that period questioning the authenticity of the Vedas. Refuting each in his own way, he succeeds in proving the existence of God.
The book of Dr. Neelakantan deals with most of the Karikas (verses) through which Udayana refutes the theories of the opponents. Definitely, the book will be very useful both for the scholars as well as for the students.
Dr. Neelakantan.S, the grand son of Neelakanta Sastry and the son of Dr. N.Sundaram, the author of this book, and whose poems in English have been published in many reputed journals and online poetry websites (like www.voicenet.com, www.poemhunter.com, etc.) under the pseudonym of Neelakantan Sundaram is a higher secondary school teacher in Sanskrit in Thiruvananthapuram.
