He is a leading academician and physician in the field of Ayurveda and is the autor of about 145 books on Ayurveda and Yoga which are published in Marathi, Hindi, Malayalam, and 13 internatioanl languages. He has worked as Prof. and Head, Dept. of Interdisciplinary School of Ayurveda and Prof, and Head, Dept. of Ayurveda, Pune University. He is also the recipient of many national and international awards.
Prof. Dr. R. R. Deshpande is an Ayurvedic Consultant and Ex. Professor and HOD of Kriya Sharir for 30 years in CARC, Pune. He has done double Post Graduation (MD) in Ayurvedic Physiology and Ayurvedic Medicine. He has written more than 50 books on Ayurveda in Marathi, English and German Languages. He has visited USA, Germany, Spain, Switzerland and Italy for Ayurveda Propogation.
Prof. Dr. Swati Chobhe is the Head of the Kriya Sharir department at PDEA's Ayurved College & Research Centre in Pune, Maharashtra, with 32 years of teaching experience. She has authored eight books on Kriya Sharir, recognized by Maharashtra Health University, and her textbooks on Kriya Sharir (Parts 1 and 2) are listed as reference books in the NCISM revised curriculum. Additionally, she is a faculty member at the International Academy of Ayurveda in Pune and has lectured on Ayurveda in Poland, Israel, the UK, Dubai, and the Netherlands.
With great pleasure, we present the new edition of Kriya Sharira (Human Physiology)- Part 1 and Part 2. This new edition of Kriya Sharira (Human Physiology) aligns with the revised curriculum for the 1st year Ayurvedacharya (BAMS) program, which was implemented by the Board of Ayurveda, National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM), New Delhi, beginning with the academic year 2021-2022.
The new curriculum for Kriya Sharira represents a harmonious integration of traditional Ayurvedic knowledge with contemporary physiological science, designed to develop the professional competencies among undergraduate Ayurveda students. This new edition of both part 1 and 2 of the Kriya Sharira series, is based on the updated curriculum prescribed by the NCISM.
Both books of Kriya Sharira are structured into Part A and Part B. Part A of the Kriya Sharira book 1 explains Ayurvedic principles such as Tridosha, Agni, Pachana, Shat- kriyakala, Deha Prakriti and Manas Prakriti. These topics are presented with scientific clarity, enhanced by color illustrations and flowcharts where appropriate.
