The present book consists of papers and the purpose of inclusion of all the papers is to show a deep relationship between the text and the context because the reading of any text without any context is nothing but to create an illusion. It is the text which if analysed structurally, leaves certain signs of context. To read a text without comprehending the meaning is a futile exercise. Postmodernist theories and theorists stress specifically on pluralistic mode of thinking and behavior. Contemporary fiction reveals multidimensional approaches. Present day society of India is surrounded by the issues like feudalism, reaction against feudalism, and pluralistic mode of society. Specific care has been taken while serializing the different papers included in this anthology for working out the postmodernist issues. I am sure the book, in the present format, will be useful to students and scholars alike.
Dr. J.P.Singh, Assistant Prof. in the Department of English, Dr. Bhagwat Sahai Govt. College Gwalior, has been teaching undergraduate and postgraduate classes for the last 26 years. He holds his Ph. D. degree from Jiwaji University Gwalior and is supervising Ph. D. Students in the same University. He has participated and presented papers in many national and international seminars. He has also published many papers on Indian English Literature and English Literature in various reputed journals and anthologies. He has organized National Seminar on Native Modernity in Indian English Fiction and Postmodern Issues in Indian English Fiction.
