Right from the inception of Telugu Akademi as the State Institute of Telugu Language is Primarily associated with the work of production of text books and other related material for the Telugu Medium students of Intermediate course and Graduate and Post Graduate courses over the period of time.

Since 1991, the Telugu Akademi has also undertaken production and publication of Question Banks for the benefit of Intermediate Telugu Medium students who aspire to take the Engineering, Medical etc. Entrance Examinations. From 1999, for the convenience of students, Telugu Akademi has been publishing Intermediate text books in English medium also.

In the past, Telugu Akademi has prepared and published Question Banks under the guidance of expert faculty from various Universities in some important subjects like Geography, Political Science, Public Administration, Telugu literature, Psychology, General studies for the benefit of students appearing for competitive Exams.

In this series, this book has been carefully prepared by utilizing the services of eminent Scholars, Professors and Senior teachers.

We hope that this book will not only be useful for competitive Exams conducted at various levels, but also for the students attending the national level exams like UPSC, state and other services.

The edition of this book "Telangana Regional Geography meant for degree students and as well as students appearing for competitive examinations and reprinted in both the Mediums. Readers can observe these things. This book is important for all government departments, of our young state. The new text book for degree students being introduced from this academic year and for students who are appearing competitive examination. Utmost care has been taken to maintain high academic standards and to ensure that the syllabus confirms to the guidelines issued by the university. We are confident that this new curriculum will provide a holistic outlook to the students. Therefore, the Telangana Regional Geography not only gives us a chance to report the state's achievements but also enables us to deliberate on opportunities ahead for further progress.

We have tried our best to incorporate basic information about the newly state consisting of 33 districts and detailed information on specific contents. Its content is organised around the major discipline, a structure that adopted to earlier editions have found to be attractive to the students convenient and flexible. There are 22 chapters which deals with physiography of the state with its physical features, population and human settlements, Agriculture, Irrigation, Trade and transport, Industries, human resources, urbanisation, planning and development, environment and Tourism Development etc.

While writing this book the latest syllabus prescribed by the University, as well as Public Service Commission, Government of Telangana was taken into consideration.

During writing of this book, compilation of material for this book is taken from various writings of senior professors, Government publications and internet sources. This volume includes analysis using Government data supplemented by other Govt official data sources, such as publications of Government of India's National Sample Surveys, RBI, and NITI Aayog etc.
