The 143rd Shreemajjagadguru Shankaraachaarya of Poorwaamanaaya Shreegowardhan Math, Puri, Swanaamadhanya Swaamee Shree Bhaaratee Krshhna Teertha Jee Mahaaraaj having carefully studied the Vaidic literatures, wrote the book entitled "vaidic Ganita" Vaidic Mathematics which attracted popularity throughout the world. The present 145th Shreemajjagadguru Shankaraachaarya Mahaabhaaga Honourable (His Holiness) Swaamee Nishchakaananda Saraswatee Jee having carefully studied the Vadic literatures composed the book "Swastika Ganita" (Swastika Mathematics) in year 2000 which has attracted the attention of the world famous mathematicians. The charishmatic and mysterious disclosure of the concept of existence characteristic of zero like that of one and the powerfulness of zero when supported by one as well as of the novel methods of evaluating numbers explained in this book is astonishing. This is the second edition of "Swastika Ganita". Honourable Pojyacharan (His Holiness) has also Written "Ankapadeeyam" Gananaatha Ganita. It is a disclosure of wonderful wisdom. "Ankapadeeyam" is expected to enjoy the same status among the mathematicians what "vaakyapadeeyam" enjoys among the grammarians. In Saamavedeeya Chaandogyopanishhat 7.1.2 the word Raashi (heap, mass) has been used for the term mathematics (Ganita). Raashi is also called gana (group).
