However, in a supersonic age and highly materialistic society of today spiritual pursuits and devotion to the Almighty have been relegated to a second post ion in our life. It is, therefore, necessary to inform and educate our people on the need for spiritual endeavors.
The effort of the author in this book to educate our people on the life and mission of Swami Swaroopananda of Pawas in Ratnagiri District is therefore, indeed a well-timed and commendable one.
This publication, apart from its biographical and human aspects of the life of Swami has several things to tell to its readers which inter alia included the finer details of the picturesque surroundings of the village in the midst of rocky Sahyadris now frequented by thousands to seek the blessings of Swami Swaroopanada. My personal experiences at this Ashram have convinced me of the basic need for spiritual pursuit in our life for proper understanding of our own Self and God which later help us to deal with several complicated situations of our mundane society.
Coupled with a strong desire to work for the less privileged and weaker sections of our society, the Swami of Pawas has not only , established the true sense and significance of Karma but has also adequately proved the need for spiritual basis in our life for an access to God and the much needed peace of mind. The book also deals with Swamiji's contribution in the Indian Independence Struggle. This is an eloquent testimony to duty.
The author has very effectively brought in this book the salient features of the life of 'Paramhansa of Pawas' in a bid to introduce him on a larger canvass so that people from various other parts ofour country could know and understand him better and follow his objectives like the foot-prints on the sandy beach for achieving the ultimate goal of salvation. I have no doubt in my mind that this endeavor will go a long way in helping us to achieve our desired objective.
