About the Author
Vaidya Kashinath Samagandi Vaidya Kashinath Samagandi born in traditional middle class family on 15.07.1980 at Gangavathi, Koppal district, Karnataka. He accomplished his graduation from Taranath Government Ayurveda College, Bellary. He achieved first rank in Svasthavritta and Yoga Cadre of P.G entrance test conducted by RGUHS, Bangalore in the year 2005 and pursued his post graduation in Swasthavritta and Yoga with appreciable profile from S.D.M.C.A & H, Hassan, Karnataka, under the keen supervision of Prof. Prasanna Narasimha Rao, Principal, Prof. T.B. Tripaty, Prof Mallika K.J and Prof Shiva Kumar. After completion of his PG Studies he got golden opportunity to serve as a faculty of PG department of Swasthavritta and Yoga (Hygiene and Yoga),in his mother institute SDMCA, Hassan for 1.5 year.

Presently, he is working as the Assistant Professor in the department of Svasthavritta and Yoga, National Institute of Ayurveda, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, Jaipur (Rajasthan) since 2010. He is author of the text books viz., Swasthavritta Sudha (for 3rd year BAMS students), Yoga Sudha (for UG, PG, and Ayurveda Practitioners), Ahara Vigyana, Dainik Swastha Vigyan (for general Public) and Godhuma Patra Swaras: A complementary Remedy for Madhumeha. Author has guided many PG research projects; he has delivered more than 55 lectures as resource person, lead speaker and keynote speaker in National, International Conferences, Seminars, CME and ROTP. He delivered 17 health talks and interaction related to Ayurveda in Television. Published more than 35 articles- in national and international peer reviewed Index journals. Author is known for his Ayurveda Diet Skills, Lifestyle modulation and Clinical Yoga. Has a triumph of demonstration of 108 Surya Namaskara followed by 5 minutes of Shirsasana within 23 minutes during 2nd IYD celebration, 21st June 2017 at N.I.A, Jaipur.

Foreword
I am delighted to write a foreword to book entitled Kashi's Text Book of Swasthavritta and Yoga `Swasthavrittamrita' written by Vaidya Kashinath Samagandi. He has done the meticulous task to compile this book after referring various literatures and presented the information on scientific basis which could be helpful for getting the probable mode of action and explanations behind these basic principles of Swasthavritta, Yoga and Nisargopachara (Naturopathy). This book mainly focuses the CCIM 3rd Year Syllabus for Swasthavritta and Yoga. This book can be helpful to provoke the analytical and logical skills among undergraduate and postgraduate students. Relevant commentaries are also referred wherever it is found necessary to remove the ambiguity in understanding the basic concepts. Apart from all this, it also gives insight of promotional and preventive benefits of practices which can be imbibed in daily routine. Various info graphics and illustration make this book very interesting and presentable.

70th Anniversary of World Health Organisation's (WHO) on 7th April 2018 focus on the Universal Health Coverage: Everyone and Every Where. Theme ensures everywhere everyone can obtain the qualitative health services without facing any monetary burden. Primary intention to focus on this theme shows that till now we are not able to render the quality health care service to public appropriately may be because of the expensive management methods or may be because of change in the health care circumstances all over the globe. Burden posed by the ailments concerned with lifestyle, rising geriatric disorders, drug resistances and complications of antibiotics, psychosomatic and somatic disorders are escalating day by day which making the modern medicine helpless and hopeless. In such haze and puzzled scenario holistic and ancient approaches especially Ayurveda, Yoga and Nisargopachara may throw a hope of light. Consciousness of the general public gradually realising that, to lead healthy life there is no need of expensive health care service, basic understanding the fundamentals of concept food, activity and lifestyle according to their constitution may assist and facilitate to lead healthy long life. The quest and thirst are the never ending process of acquainting the information. Health aspirants, students and teachers can gain the knowledge when the ideas, concepts, reasoning and recommendations are collectively made available at single place. Swasthavritta being one of the primary fundamental of the Ayurveda, there is a need of extensive explores and explains. Exploring the concepts available in Ayurveda excellence mainly Bhrhatraya and Laghutrya and their respective commentaries and accumulate it where ever is needed and explain the same in appealing form is the need of hour. All these can be made possible when academician cum practitioner write the text book according to the syllabus.

Many students from various part of the country, who are more comfort with English encouraged me to write the Swasthavritta and yoga text in English language.
