Preface
How did the practitioner of yoga, meditation and spirituality get involved with colours? Why did he give up his pursuit of spiritualism and turn to materialism? What after all, was great attraction in colour therapy? Answers to these questions had to be found.
When I got to the roots of meditation I visualized different colors emanating from my body. I felt that not only our body, speech and mind have colours, but the vibrations of our emotions are colored too.
Leshyadhyan (color meditation) is a part of prekshadhyan ( a special deep meditation). Practising it makes it apparent that by concentrating on colours we can make our body, mind and emotions pure and healthy. I have no hesittion in saying that prekshadhyan is the infalliable treatment to purify our entire life.
Colour therapy is not only a means of making our physical body disease-free, but it is even possible to change a person's nature by this treatment. Anger, fear, and anxiety can be pacified. Feelings become pure with the influence of colours.
Prekshadhyan and colour therapy together can make the body, mind and emotions healthy. The relationship between the body, mind and emotions is so close, that the mind cannot be healthy if the body is not, and the emotions cannot be healthy if the mind is not. Pure thoughts lead to a healthy mind, which in turn ensures a pure and healthy body. It is a triangle, which cannot be broken. Therefore, meditation is necessary to keep all the three healthy.
Some years ago I met Dr. D. N. Narang, an experienced practitioner of colour therapy, by chance. He has been giving free treatment for the last 50 years. He has also trained hundreds of students.
Taking him to be my guru, I studied many excellent books in English on the subject of colour therapy. Deep analysis of what I read in those books, has confirmed my belief that colours affect our body and mind. I spoke about it to my guru, Yuvacharya Mahaprajyaji, and showed him some books. He immediately understood the value of this therapy. Inspired by him, I used this therapy at the meditation camps conducted under his supervision and direction. Short training programmes and treatment of the physical and emotional problems of the trainees were started. The results were beyond all expectations. Since then experiments and training in this treatment have continued at the Adhyatma Sadhana Kendra. When I had greater experience and faith in the naturalness, subtlety and simplicity of this therapy, I published a four-page folder on behalf of the Kendra. It contained, in brief, all the salient points of this treatment. A sensible person can benefit from this therapy after reading it. Thousand of these folders were distributed free of charge, and they are still in demand.
This treatment is most inexpensive. It is a boon to our poor country. I am confident that it will spread widely in India. With this thought and on the insistence of some friends I have ventured to write this book. If it helps readers t all in gaining health through colour therapy, my labour will be rewarded.
Foreword
Solar therapy is an activity of the Adhyatma Sadhana Kendra. Ten years ago Dadaji (Mohanlal Kathotia) introduced it in the Kendra. The system of healing with colour is very simple, efficacious, safe, inexpensive and natural. Impressed with it, Dadaji treated himself, the inmates of the Kendra and people from surrounding areas. In some areas of this therapy the success has been beyond expectations. This service is rendered free at the centre.
We went abroad and came across excellent books based on research in colour therapy in U.S.A. and England. We bought some books and brought them back with us. We made people practise colour therapy and colour meditation along with prekshadhyan. Those who participated were quite impressed.
After our return some others and I requested Dadaji to give his knowledge and experience in the form of a book for the benefit of the people. It would also provide impetus to the efforts of the Kendra to popularize this therapy. This book has been written in this perspective-personal experience, knowledge of this therapy and experiments.
The reader will find in this book detailed information about the rules of health, explanations of colour therapy from different angles, the effect of colours, the method of diagnosis, the relationship between feelings and colour, changing one's feelings and habits through colour meditation, the way to discourage evil and unhealthy activities the opinions of experts on colour therapy, accounts of some miraculous experiment and about the Kendra.
The special features of this book are- 1. Colour therapy has been well related to concentration of the mind and meditation. 2. It explains how to discourage evil and bring about a change through colours. 3. The experiment of using a gem on various colours and the use of these gems for pacifying the grahas (planets). 4. Therapy through the colours of the seven notes of music. 5. Magneto therapy. The language is simple. It is hoped that this book will add a new dimension to colour therapy.
