About the Book Studies in Sanskrit Literature is a collection of 24 articles in keeping with the 24 letters of Gayatri Mantra, presented by me in various international and national seminars. The articles pertain to Veda, Upanishads, Tantra, Gita, Environment, Jivanmukti according to Sankara, relevance of Ramanujacharya to 21st century, influence of Sanskrit on South East Asian languages (paper presented at festival of India in Thailand (Bangkok) and various articles on Modern Sanskrit Literature like Folk elements in Modern Sanskrit works based on Srimad Bhagavatam, five articles on the works of Radhavallabh Tripathi, Rochishmati of Padmashree awardee Sri Bhashyam Vijayasarady, Sahitya Akademi award winning works in the New millennium, Satire in Modern Sanskrit literature, Supremacy of Sanskrit and its relevance to modern times. Thus, this volume is a comprehensive survey from Vedic times to Modern times covering all the important aspects chronologically.

In short, it is a comprehensive compendium with contemporary relevance. This volume serves as a useful guide to research scholars as well as layman alike and should find favour with the general public.

About the Author Dr. S. Ranganath secured First Class, First Rank in M.Α. Sanskrit from Bangalore University. He is the recipient of Hiriyanna Gold Medal and Hebbar Srivaishnava Sabha Gold Medal. The title Vedabhooshana was conferred on him by Veda Dharma Paripalana Sabha. The Title "Vedashri" was conferred on him from World Association of Vedic Studies, USA Bangalore Branch. American Biographical Institute, U.S.A., has honoured him with the title The Man of The Year 1996. He has a Vidwan Degree in Advaitha Vedanta from Sri Chamarajendra Sanskrit College. He has studied Rigveda traditionally for Eight years. His Ph.D. dissertation was Contribution of Vacaspati Misra to Indian Philosophy. He has One Hundred books and more than Hundred Research papers to his credit. He was Professor and Head of the Department of Sanskrit, N.M.K.R.V. College for Women Bangalore and Director of R.V. Institute of Sanskrit Studies. He was awarded D.Litt., from H. P. University, Shimla in 2005 for his Postdoctoral publications on Post Independence Sanskrit Literature. He has a Rashtra Bhasha Visharada in Hindi from Chennai. He delivered lectures at Oxford, Cambridge, London, Brighton, Nottingham, Berlin and Wittenberg during June-July 2011 on Indian Culture. He was honoured at House of Commons -Parliament of London by Lord Billimoria. Her Royal Highness Princess Mahachakri Sirindhorn honoured him at Shilpakorn University, Bangkok, Thailand on 27th September 2013. Chief Minister of Karnataka, Sri. Siddaramaiah presented him the Book Prize for the year 2012-2013 as the best book on Gandhi entitled Gandhi in Sanskrit Literature at Gandhi Bhavan, Bangalore on 2nd October 2013. "Vidyavaridhi" title was bestowed on him from Telugu Vignana Vedike on 5th January 2014 at Bangalore. He has been nominated as Kannada language expert for multilingual Sanskrit Etymological Dictionary project by M.H.R.D., Govt. of India, Jan. 2014. He was awarded "Vacaspati" from Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha, Tirupati on 5th March 2014 at the 17th Convocation. He was awarded "Adhaytma Vidyalankara" on 30th April 2014 at Shankar Krupa, Bangalore. Shankara Shastri Trust Bangalore honoured him as an Eminent Vedic Scholar on 22nd November 2015. He was honoured at Kashi on 20th November 2016 with "Vagyoga Samman" by Vagyoga Chetana Peetham. Akhila Bharatiya Vidwat Parishat Kashi has conferred the title "Mahamahopadhyaya" on him for the year 2017. Was "Vidyasudharnava" by Shri Gangadharendra Saraswathi Swamiji of Shri Swarnavalli Mutt, Sirsi on 5th Nov. 2017. He was awarded Jnanashri Title from Om Sri Vidyadegula Trust. He is nominated as a member to the Sanskrit Advisory Board of Central Sahitya Academy for 5 years from 2018-2022. Vinay Foundation Bangalore Honoured him with Vinayashree Award on 21.03.2019 at Bangalore. Sri Raghaveshwara Bharathi Swamiji of Ramachandrapur Mutt conferred Shankara Kinkara puraskar on 09.05.2019 at Bankuli Mutt.
