Born at Kharwan (Haryana), Dr. Satya Vrat took his M.A. degree from the Punjab University, with high First class marks. After a short stint at the prestigious D.A.V. College, Amritsar, he joined the Rajasthan Education Service in 1954. His perceptive dissertation on the Jaina Sanskrit Maha kavyas earned him the Ph. D. degree from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur.
