I was overjoyed when Dr. Krishna Saksena informed me that she was planning to write another book. I have thoroughly enjoyed her past books, and for the past couple of years have waited with eager anticipation for the publishing of this book. Dr. Saksena has this unique ability of presenting profound topics in a simple language with a casual narrative style. Her story lines are intriguing and thought provoking. I was privileged to get an advance copy of this book and can attest that I was compelled to read the entire book in a single sitting: a veritable page turner! The fascinating plot and the engaging characters demand your complete attention and reward you with a truly satisfying reading experience. The book, which brings forth the "games" that are being played in modern society, stays with you long after you have finished reading it. It compels you to examine, observe, introspect and ultimately change. A true soul stirrer with the engaging charm of a blockbuster.
I never cease to be amazed at Dr. Saksena's literary versatility. In her "Gita as I Understand" she plumbs the mystical depths of this timeless classic and presents the message in a way that can be easily understood and practiced. In "Take a U turn" she addresses the troubling flight of our youth to materialism. In one of her most thought provoking book, "The tales my wrinkle tell", Dr. Saksena gives the fortunate reader an intimate glimpse into her insights garnered over a long and challenging life. Indeed, in all her books, she writes from her heart, from her own life experience, with faith and conviction.
Dr. Saksena is a deeply spiritual person and a lifelong educationalist and a philanthropist. She also is the matriarch of a large and influential family which gives her a front row seat to all the family challenges and intrigues. In sorrow and in joy, she is there to help, guide and resolve. She is called to mediate on marital disagreements, property disputes, sibling quarrels, eloping daughters and errant sons. Such is the respect for her wisdom and integrity that not only is her intervention is highly sought after, it also leaves everyone satisfied. Her simplicity and humility mask her intellect, her indomitable will and drive to help. What it cannot hide is her heart of gold and the presence of divine in every moment of her life. My deepest gratitude to her for bringing us this gem of book at a time it is most needed.
