Every year the disciples and followers of Srila Prabhupada , the founder- acarya of ISKCON, compose written tributes in celebration of the day of his birth. This year is special as devotees all over the world are celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Incorporation of ISKCON and also it is the 120th Appearance year of our Srila Prabhupada. This year is also special for us as this is the year we are publishing a unique and separate Vyasa Puja Book for Our Srila Prabhupada with the offerings from his disciples and Grand Disciples in Delhi- NCR! Although, it’s our humble attempt to glorify His Divine Grace and we could manage to collect just a little over 500 offerings from devotees and we know that this book have lots of mistakes- be it grammatical or philosophical due to whatever reasons we may give but I would like to thank to all the devotees who have submitted their heartfelt offering of love. We would request the assembly of devotees to Please accept this meager attempt of our team who really worked hard to collect these offerings, getting them typed, edit a bit of them and give them the shape it is in front of you now!! It was all done in just a period of a month and half. We hope to collect more offering next year and present a better Vyasa Puja Book next year at the lotus feet of our Founder- Ahcarya in 2017!.
We would like to thank HH Lokanath Swami Maharaja who especially wrote an article on Srila Prabhupada in Delhi for this book in spite of his busy schedule! We would also like to thank HH Jayapataka Swami Maharaj, HH Gopala Krsna Goswami Maharaj, HH Satsvarupa Dasa Goswami Maharaj, HH Bhakti Madhurya Govind Goswami Maharaj, HG Kratu Prabhu, HG Sankarshan Prabhu, HG Sridham Prabhu for sending their Vyasa Puja offerings to Srila Prabhupada!
Vyasa Puja is an opportunity for all of us gathered here today to reflect upon the mission and movement of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. It is a movement of inspired devotees of Krsna, established to make tangible the hopes of all the predecessor acaryas. It began on a Suburbad Kolkata roof- top in 1922 with a simple instruction to teach the message of the Vedas in the English language. Our appreciation for everything we have received form Srila Prabhupada, of how it has transformed our life, and our display of gratitude, must surely be to continues the mission and message of this most extraordinary of all representative of Srila Vyasadeva. May we honour him today and always , and work together to Share him with the world.
On Vyasa Puja Day we honour Srila Prabhupada as one who preserved Vedic knowledge and made it accessible to a fresh, new audience. We honour him as own ho explained the deeper meanings of the scriptures and demonstrated by his example the efficacy of the spiritual techniques described in them. We honour him as one who walked through the Earth establishing the sacred arca- vigraha, restoring brahmanical culture and arguing for cow protection- the hallmarks of civilized human life. We give thanks that he initiated and trained many disciples to carry forward his messages and preserve the chain of teacher.
On Vyasa Puja Day we try to understand our incalculable good fortune of being connected with such an acarya as Srila Prabhupada. He had only carried the message of Srila Vyasadeva but showed us how to live it. He continues to personally leads us from this world of darkness to the world of eternal light. We give thanks for his boundless compassion and never- ending efforts to save us, and we think that through him, we have come to understand the meaning of the term ‘His Divine Grace’.
On Vyasa Puja Day we worship Srila Prabhupada as the manifested compassion of the Supreme Lord, and we give thanks for the day he appeared in this world, as well as the blessed day we met him and heard his word for the first time.
Srila Prabhupada has given the world Lord Krsna, and Lord Krsna has given the world Srila Prabhupada. The more the glories of Srila Prabhupada are spread, the more Lord Krsna will be Pleased, and the more we spread Lord Krsna’s glories by disturbing Srila Prabhupada’s book and presenting Krsna consciousness in various other ways, the more Srila Prabhupada will be pleased. Throughout his life Srila Prabhupada successfully spread the practice and principles of Krsna consciousness in numerous ways. Now the Lord is urging His devotees to successfully spread the glories of his dear most servant, Srila Prabhupada, to the multitudes. This has been partially accomplished through video and film, book, etc. However, to make Srila Prabhupada’s glories known to the outside world so that people from all walks of life experience the same above- mentioned deep appreciation for Srila Prabhupada, we require a unified endeavor and an intelligent approach. Ebe yasa ghusuk tribhuvana. Let Srila Prabhupada’s glories be spread all over the three world!
In this book, we’ve included Srila Prabhupada own vyasa Puja offering to his spiritual master, His Divine Grace Srila Bhaktisidhanta Saraswati Thakur and his lecture on theming of the offering.
We hope that devotees will be pleased with our meager attempt to glorify a personality whose glories are unlimited as Lord Himself! Please forgive our team for the mistakes in the book as it was prepared in a very short time. We received all the offerings in few weeks’ time only and we didn’t had enough time to go through each and every offerings for gRamatical and basic editing although an effort was made to rectify the errors but due to shortage of time, we had to skip that process and as We’re writing this Introduction, it’s already 16th August! We would consider our work success if even one devotee, who have written offering for the first time, feels inspired to write an offering for Srila Prabhupada every year!
