This souvenir is a loving tribute to the Divine Master Om Vishnupad Paramhansa 108 Shri Srimad Bhakti Suhrid Paribrajak Maharaj, the present President - Acharya of Gaudiya Mission, in commemoration of His 54th advent anniversary on the 21st February 2001.
Earlier, His Holiness Sripad Harijan Maharaj had presented Srila Goswamipad's life-sketch in "Gaur Parshad Charitavali" in Bengali. This souvenir is being presented in English for the benefit of disciples in India and abroad.
The souvenir unfolds to the reader, the life history of our most beloved Gurudev Srila Goswamipad, revealing various aspect of His Divine life as well as men and matters associated with Him. It opens with the teachings of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the Supreme Lord Himself, followed by a brief introduction to Gaudiya Mission and messages of the Guruvarga. It moves on to present a glimpse into the Divine life of Srila Goswamipad. We are also proud to present to the reader, the golden words of Srila Goswamipad as rendered by Him at various occasions and His message to mankind at large. Any offering is incomplete without the outpouring of the heart of the disciples, hence a few Shradhanjalies follows. In order to make this souvenir appealing to the reader, keeping it's sacredness and gravity intact, we have made this souvenir pictorial, with photographs of momentous occasions and glorious functions of our Mission in India and London (where Srila Goswamipad has been a superintendent).
Gaudiya Mission, which upholds the genuine and pure form of eternal and loving service of the Lord, is based on preceptorial line of succession beginning from Bramha handed down to Sri Narada Muni further to Sri Vyasdev and the then through the Gaudiya Vaishanav Acharyas to the present Acharya Srila Goswamipad. Thus we can fathom, how authentic, how ancient and how sacred is the path of devotion as followed by the Gaudiya Acharyas, At present, under the aegis of Srila Goswamipad the Mission marches toward the achievment of the eternal loving service of the Lord . In order to profess our heart felt gratitude and deep indebtness to Srila Goswamipad, we present to Him this offering.
Bhakti means "loving devotional service" Every service has some attractive feature which drives the servitor progressively on and on. Every one of us involved in this offering has been driven by our affection for Srila Goswamipad and the impetus for such service has been the pleasure we derived from it. We hope, this offering will please the Divine Master and prove helpful to the reader.
We are thankful to the devotees & wellwisher who have toiled lovingly to make this souvenir a success and also those who have donated generously to bring out this publication.
