About the Book:
God is everywhere. He is in the very heart of everyone. But man's ignorance makes him blind to God's presence. Even though God is now here, man thinks He is nowhere! By contact of holy men (satsang), man comes to accept God; Yet his extrovert tendencies, his attachment to objects and relations of the world make him find it difficult to relate with the Lord. He feels he is far from God. Among the many techniques advised in this regard by great Masters, puja (worship) is a very effective and powerful one which makes a man feel greater and greater closeness with the Lord.
In Puja, we involve our body, speech and mind in our adoration of the Supreme. Thus the whole personality is directed to His service. By regular worship, our mind becomes pure, our slavish dependence on the worldly objects for our happiness reduces and we come to enjoy the serenity of divine contemplation. With mind made calm, serene and pure, our whole life becomes joyous and we will be cheerful and efficient in any work-secular or spiritual-that we do!
Sri Sarasvati is the Goddess of learning. She presides over all knowledge. Also she blesses us with the ability to speak well with clarity of thought, appropriateness of words and nobility of ideas. As students of Spiritual knowledge (Brahma vidya), we must worship Sri Sarasvati to gain knowledge, humility dispassion and devotion.
May this booklet be helpful to young and old to develop their inner personality through divinising their thoughts. By the grace of Devi Sarasvati and by the blessings of our Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayanandaji, may we grow in our spiritual stature by sincerely performing spiritual practices like Puja.
