Book Description
About the Book
This is a distinctive biographical sketch of Sri Guru Gobind Singh - the tenth and last Prophet of Sikhism - distinctive in the sense that it is correlative to the Divine mission of Sikh religion capable of ushering in a new civilization, higher (as observed by Arnold Toynbee) than the earlier Indic and Hindu civilizations. The author, rather, goes beyond Arnold Toynbee by expounding that Sikhism has the potential of heralding a new World Civilization of the third millennium.

About the Author
Dr. Jasbir Singh Ahluwalia represented India at the International PEN Conference in Moscow in 1973. Seeing his turban and beard some delegates, informally, asked him about his religion. Dr. Ahluwalia could reply whatever he knew about Sikhism but he himself was not satisfied and resolved to study, in depth, doctrinal aspects of Sikhism. So, metaphorically, he says that he came to Sri Amritsar (Sikh Philosophy) via Moscow. The result was his seminal book hailed as a classic The Sovereignty of the Sikh Doctrine.
