Jainism is an integral part of India's rich cultural heritage. Lord Mahavira was the 24th Tirthankara of this religion. He was an apostle of non-violence and compassion. He stressed the importance of human life and said that liberation can be achieved in human state only. He gave the message of equality and limitation of desires to achieve peace of mind and tranquillity. His message is an inspiration for the entire humanity.
The preachings of Lord Mahavira are very simple and effective and they influence every aspect of human life. Although he preached 2500 years ago, his preachings are relevant even today and bear special significance for the spiritual advancement of mankind. His message is full of optimism, self-reliance, self-discipline and self-purification to develop inherent and infinite potentialities of human self.
