An author is the link-man between teachers and students in all spheres of education including homoeopathic system of medi- cine. There have been vast changes in curriculum, individual type of compartmentalisation and dynamic integration of various pre, para, and clinical subjects in homoeopathic medical teachings (un- der-graduate, graduate and post-graduate).

It is accepted that what the students are expected to get from this volume are practical fundamentals of homoeopathy, ability to render firsthand Hahnemannian treatment in any critical condition and its suitability for passing the curriculum examinations, i.e., theoretical, practical and viva. | feel that, with the help of my con- tributions, I have fulfilled all these obligations.

Comparisons, short notes, objective questions, pathology, sur- gery, hygiene, miasms, chronic disease, genetics, AIDS, cancer research, pioneers of homoeopathy, etc. are included in this vol- ume. All possible attempts have been made to express the content of this volume in a lucid manner to rouse interest of the students. I have consulted many books and some illustrations of my forerun- ners, acknowledging that in appropriate places.

In the course of preparing this textbook | received extensive help, co-operation, encouragement and appreciation from my de- partmental colleagues as weil as persons active in the discipline of homoeopathic system of medicine. Apart from them, Shri Sachin, Kr. Sen, Shri Arum Das Adhikari, Mrs. Anuradha Banerjee (Li- brarian, D.N. De), Mrs. Shailka, Dr. Munshi Talat Mahmood earn my gratitude.
