A plenty of work was done for Sikh patrons by flock of Pahari painters merging local variants. The whole work has now acknowledged as "Pahari' style or sometimes as "Pahari-Sikh collectively, but painters arrived in Punjab plains from different hill states along with their styles.
Guler- Sikh style distinguishes Sikh paintings from other hill styles. The signed works indicate particular painterly styles. Sikh patrons favored Guler style for their portraits and narratives, which gave a particular character and flavor to Sikh paintings from second half of eighteenth century till the end of nineteenth century. The study deliberates the Guler aesthetic particularly with adjustments and alterations under Sikh impressions. Some work was also commissioned under Hindu patrons of Punjab plains.
