Yogiraj Sri Shama Churn Lahiree Mahasaya is "SWAYAM BHAGAVAN" in other words is God Himself. The God of Dwaparayuga Sri Krishna marked His Advent in the Form of Bhagavan Shama Churn in the last phase of Kaliyuga in Ghurni, Krishnagar West Bengal; in 1828 A.D and departed from His Mortal Frame in 1895 at Kashi Abode. At the time of His Departure He has reassured mankind "In the days to come man will practise this Brahma-knowledgelike Kriyayoga in every household and go beyond the birth-death cycle."
Shamachurn has stated "As long as man remains under the ambit of birth-death; happiness sorrow; laughter cry; disease- misery; afflictions; malice-anger, mind and sensory illusions; which are your gross enemies, he will never gain release from them. Therefore as early as possible abandon them, become a true human being and attain eternal peace." This is His principal guidance for humanity. But remember "You have sown the seeds of non-peace by crying about dharma but this Brahma- knowledge is not that dharma. The religion which fosters divisibility, distances peace, can never be dharma. This Brahma- knowledge is the path to know oneself the body is not me, the One who inheres myself is me. If you consider body to be yourself, divisibility arises thus malice; Inherent Me fosters non-divisibility thus ahimsa tolerance non-malice." Every devoted human being, match your sadhana life with the pithy sayings of Yogiraj.
Thus 'God of Householders' Shama Churn's Esse and pithy sayings are the cynosure of direction for fallen humanity- jealous selfish people.
All the Divine Apophthegms of Shama Churn Lahiree Mahasaya which were unevenly distributed till now have been remarkably culled together and chosen by my affectionate Shantanu Kapur's austere endeavours.
There is no dearth of advisers, teachers in our lives. Our childhood is guided by our parents, adolescence by preceptors, youth by bosses in the workplace along with friends, colleagues, spouses, all at any point of time manifest as advisers.
Mostly it is noticed that all these instructions imparted are rendered futile at one point of time.
While traversing in life's path man constantly dashes against the narrow blind lanes, eventually becomes exhausted, confused, disoriented, then it strikes him "Alas, in this time of duress if God would come and lead me!"
This desire is fulfilled very marginally. For select fortunates Sadgurulike Bhagavan marks His Advent and leads.
But the ones who are deprived of this Providence, what about them? Will their lives be rendered fruitless?
In my instance, perhaps due to some good karmas of previous births, I had the good fortune of attaining the Sadguru's grace. "Purana Purusha Yogiraj Sri Shyamacharan Lahiree" authored by Him is inimitable impeccable because reading this scripture repeatedly reminded me "The infallible counsel imparted by Yogiraj latent in the scripture Purana Purusha, if they can be culled together and published in the form of a book, humanity will inevitably be benefitted." My Guru is Sadguru the Omniscient Bhagavan. He realised what was going on in my mind and one day instructed me You try to cull the Divine Apophthegms/ Sayings of Yogiraj from "Purana Purusha Yogiraj Sri Shyamacharan Lahiree" and "Yogiraj Granthabali."
(Annotation of the 26 sastras rendered by Shamacharan Lahiree Mahasaya Himself and compiled by my venerable Gurudeva Mahamahopadhyay Dr. Ashoke Kumar Chatterjee).
In accordance with Gurudeva's instructions I sat down to fulfil it, but whatever little was culled was possible through His causeless mercy. Yogiraj is "SWAYAM BHAGAVAN" and through the medium of these Divine Sayings He will surely guide the ones who have been buffeted and are aggrieved by continuously being drawn to the vicious vortex, this is my humble prayer at His Lotus Feet.
