यद्यपि श्रीमद्भगवद गीता का पहले से ही विस्तृत रूप से पठन और प्रकाशन होता रहा है, इस महाकाव्य की मूल भाषा संस्कृत है जिसका ज्ञान हर साधारण व्यक्ति को नहीं है। इस कठिनाई को दूर करने के लिये लगभग सभी मुख्य भारतीय भाषाओं में गीता का अनुवाद किया गया है। गीता के धर्म निरपेक्ष व व्यावहारिक ज्ञान ने देश में ही नहीं विदेशों में भी अपने प्रकाश को फैलाया है, वहां भी गीता पाठियों की संख्या दिन-ब- दिन बढ़ती ही जा रही है। ऐसे ही पाठकों को ध्यान में रखते हुए अंग्रेजी भाषा में यह पुस्तक अनुवादित की गई है। इस पुस्तक को सीधी-सादी हिन्दी व अंग्रेजी भाषा में रूपान्तरित करके लिखा गया है। इसमें मूल ग्रन्थ का सार न देकर ग्रन्थ की शुद्धता को कायम रख अनुवादित किया गया है। इस पुस्तक में मूल लिपि संस्कृत के साथ-साथ उसका रोमनाईजेशन, हिन्दी अनुवाद और अंग्रेजी अनुवाद भी दिया गया है। इतना ही नहीं इस पुस्तक में हर अध्याय का माहात्म्य भी दिया गया है ताकि पाठक अध्याय के पठन से मिलने वाले लाभ को भी समझ सकें। इस पुस्तक को छापने के पीछे हमारा उद्देश्य अपनी किसी व्यक्तिगत भावना को व्यक्त करना नहीं है, हमारा उद्देश्य भगवान श्रीकृष्ण के कल्याणकारी उपदेशों को जन कल्याण के लिए विश्व के कोने-कोने में पहुंचाना है। इस परमार्थ कार्य को छपवा कर यथार्थ रूप देने में शिवम पब्लिकेशन्स का सहयोग सराहनीय है। हमें विश्वास है कि श्रीमद्भगवद गीता के यथारूप को जिस प्रकार प्रस्तुत किया गया है, उसे पढ़ कर सभी पाठक लाभान्वित होंगे। श्रीमद्भगवद गीता पर कई पुस्तकों का अध्ययन व विश्लेषण करने के बाद इसे एकत्रित कर एक अनमोल ग्रन्थ का रूप दिया गया है।
Although Bhagwat Geeta has already been widely read and published, but the original epic is 'Sanskrit language which is not known by all the ordinary people of the society. To ease this difficulty Geeta has been translated in almost all the languages.
The secular charter and customary knowledge, Geeta has, not only in the country, but in foreign countries also, been spread its light. The number of the readers of the Geeta, there also, is increasing. Taking in view such readers this translated version in English has been brought out. This book has been translated in simple language in both English and Hindi languages. In it, the original epic has not been mainly brought into consideration but its perfectness and purity has been taken into view. In this book in addition to its original language, Sanskrit, its Romanization form in English and translation in Hindi have also been added. Not only this, the significance of each chapter of Geeta has also been added, so that the readers may be profited and may easily know the contents or massage of the chapter very well.
We do not have to fulfill any personal ends by publishing this book, but our aim is to spread the benefiting massage of Lord Shri Krishna to the four ends of the world.
