Forewords We had published Shri Padma Mahapurana in Hindi and it received popular welcome and fulfilled a long cherished demand of devotees for such a book. We also received similar demand for its English version; and looked for a person who could do the translation of our Hindi Book into English in a short time.

Introduction Padma Purana contains five parts-Srishti khand, Bhumi khand, Swarg khand, Patal khand and Uttar khand.

Srishti khand contains an explanation of metaphysical knowledge in a dialogue style between Bheeshma and the sage Pulastya. It contains a description of Pushkar Tirth. Surprisingly, this part ridicules the worship of the planets (Grahas).
