Introduction H. H.Sadguru Shree Mama's mother, Matushree H. H. Parvatidevi Deshpande, was a unique personality. One is better off only imagining the spiritual and worldly prowess and riches of someone, who was fondly called 'my child' by none other than Rajadhiraj Sadguru Shree Swami Samarth Maharaj of Akkalkot!

In this short biography, H. H. Shakatai has painted a phenomenal picture of the penance and unique spiritual capabilities of Param-Sadguru Matushree, who literally molded H. H. Shree Mama. Her easy, lucid and adorable linguistic styling; literally brings all incidents and characters to life.

Another unique feature of this short book is that the biography of the 'daughter' of Shree Swami Samarth Maharaj is penned by the 'daughter' of H. H. Shree Mama from the same lineage! A granddaughter introducing her larger-than-life Grandmother! No one can tell the ways of the benevolence of the Sadguru, which is perhaps why the entire writing by H. H. Shakatai took place in a matter of two days.

Preface On the auspicious eve of `Shree Dattatreya Jayanti' it gives me immense pleasure to present to you the English version of `ShreeSwamiTanaya', the Marathi and Hindi versions of which have been widely popular among all saadhaks.

Those who have had the extraordinary privilege of being in the divine company of Sadguru Shree Mama have always been struck by his many-faceted personality and multiplicity of talents. He however, with characteristic humility always credited his mother for everything he ever was. This biography, a testimony to those feelings, is but a short glimpse of the exemplary lives of Sadguru Shree Mama's blessed father and mother. The astonishingly singular focus on her Sadguru and her mission, in the face of unbelievable adversities still leaves us dumbfounded.

This mission as entrusted upon H. H. Sadguru Matushree Parvatidevi by H. H. Sadguru Shree Swami Samarth Maharaj of Akkalkot was to create the phenomena that were Sadguru Shree Mama, the guiding light and redeemer for thousands of lives.

As I gently place this small gesture of my immeasurable appreciation in her soft palms, I am filled with an urge to pray at her lotus-feet to shower us with her benedictions, so we can all be the kind of saadhaks, she expected us to be.
