Shikshya Manhujusha is in the true sense an anthology of a basket of aphorism. This is a book completely of a new order.
The two thousand one hundred and twenty one short but wise-sayings cover a very wide field and are chose with great care and attention so as to meet different situations. From the utility point of view, the broad spectrum covers almost every aspect of life and the reader immediately finds what he has been looking for. The wise-sayings are often so apt and befitting that readers have more than one choice and have to genuinely labour for picking up the appropriate one.
A handy reference-cum-guide this type is indeed an asset in the hands of the reader. I command this book to sincere genuine reader.
We were inspired to prepare a volume on education, which may cover education in a bolistic manner i.e. in all its varied forms and aspects of life and which may carry such aphorisms too that besides being immensely interesting and meaningful are also edifying in myriad forms. It is from this angle that aphorisms on education in their multiple imports and meanings have been selected and presented in Deva Nagare and Roman Scripts. After that they are translated into Hindi and English.
Each aphorism has been given a heading / or the subject-area it belongs to. Along with aphorisms like Aum which means the original teacher, the Divine Being, mother-father (parents), student, nation, cultural traditions, politics etc. and some such aphorisms for those that are forbidden, condemnable and / or admired have also been included in this collection. Apart from all these the subject of education per se has also been laid stress upon in which the content and the - forms of education, methods of instruction, goals of education and the systems of education etc. have been given special place.
In this collection help has been taken from the Vedas, the Upanishads, the Brabmanas, the Puranas, dramas, the epics and the collections of aphorisms. We have thought it proper to acknowledge the sources of our own selections. We have the confidence and full faith that this collectioin because of its extraordinary nature and format would both delight and edify its fond readers and lovers. For the encouraging comments and remarks as and when received we wish to assure the readers that due care would be taken in the subsequent editions to see th at they are incorporated in an appropriate manner.
