Adhyathmikathe, means controlling mind's contact with the external world and drawing it firmly towards the unbound Self of AnandaSwaroopa, the ChaithanyamayaAntharathma, Paramathama alone. This is also said to be the hidden sum and substance of all Vedashastras. This is perhaps the reason why, Adhyathmikathe is held as the supreme height of human endeavour, harmonising the unwavering Shraddhe with sharp intellect. No wonder if Adhyathmikathe appears to be a GaganaKusuma, an inaccessible flower in the sky, more so to those who subscribe to Modern Scientific temperament which depends solely on the intellect and goes on formulating new theories on the basis of revised view points, annulling the previously held propositions. Our Rushi Muni's, the ancient Scientists, thousands of years ago have clearly stated.
the 'All Time Truth', that he, who is dependent and follows intellect alone, cannot discover Thathva. In the shaareeraka MeemamsaSoothra, Vyasa has said that, Logic TharkaPrathishtanath, is baseless. Barthruhari in his VakyapadeeyaKarike has said: That which is proved with great effort by the clever intellectuals, is proved in a different manner by those with higher and greater intellect. Therefore Gauthama and Kaanada composed the ancient Tharkashastra, Logic, within the boundaries of Veda Pramanya, employing several intellectual provisos providing proofs for the reality of Dharma-Adharma, Aathma-Eeshwara, Bondage- Moksha. Hence Tharkashastra is named Anveekshikee. The direct Pramana proof, is employed for subjects that deal with Loukika matters and Veda Pramana for Aloukika matters.
