The success of sangeet mala part one has encouraged me to bring out a sequel to the same. Sangeet mala part two is a guide to advanced ragas which one presented in detail through bandish, aalap and taans.
I have made sincere attempt to take advantage of modern technology in sharing my musical knowledge. In order to facilitate the student's learning, an audio Cd has been enclosed with the book. The distinguishing factor in this book is its chapter on Saath-sangat. This will be usefull to vocalist and accompanists alike. The chapter dwells upon the intricacies of Saath-sangat- the instruments that we use for accompaniment in classical music. Special thanks to my friend Sri Akarsha R.K. for translating Saath-sangat.
Indian classical music can be learnt only from a guru, my intention is not to replace a guru but to lead one to the tutelage of a good guru.
