Her love for the epics, Puranas and philosophy made her become a full-time author. She has written five novels, Abhaya, Avishi, Mauri, Draupadi and Rukmini, all based on strong female characters from the ancient past of India. She also holds a certificate in the Puranas from The Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies, University of Oxford, England. She runs a mentorship programme for aspiring novelists and is also a Carnatic Classical singer.
