The Rig Veda, the oldest book in the world, is a collection of 1028 hymns addressed to gods and different elements of nature. It was composed between 1900 and 4000 BC, or even much older, by sages living between the Ganges and the Indus. Through its often warlike metaphors, the attentive reader discovers a civilization totally different from all those we know. A concrete, practical, effective spirituality, thanks to a drink made from entheogenic plants, was the center of daily concerns. This translation takes into account scientific discoveries that have occurred since the 19th century, including archaeology, astronomy, geology and others. The reading of these hymns is done on several levels and everyone finds there the answers to their most intimate questions.
