ABOUT THE BOOK

The idea to write this book came to mind from the Australian World War II press correspondent, Howard Murphet's travels in India in quest of God, trying to "discover in ashram, jungle hermitage or Himalayan cave, a great yogi of supernormal powers who knew the secret of life and death?"

What and where is God?

He finally discovered just such a yogi, a Man of Miracles. This Holy Man, while describing the present crisis of strife and discord in the world, said, "Intellectual conceit has grown so wild that men have become foolish enough to ask, 'What and where is God?'

Era of Godlessness.

We cannot expect God to reveal Himself if modern society and leadership rejects or suppresses God at different levels in our daily life. The twentieth century witnessed the steady decline of the age-old beliefs of man in God, religion and morality. Instead, it saw the unprecedented rise in materialism. Science was in, God was out.

Billy Graham's daughter, Anne was interviewed on TV and asked 'How could God let something like Hurricane Katrina happen?" She replied, 'I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out... 'Funny, how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell...'

In Quest of Reality

This book is for those in quest of Reality. The first two chapters deal with the Origin and Process of Creation.

Nobel Prize-winning quantum physicists and others of the twentieth-century had their first non-sensory experience of reality, as the Mystics did. The models of modern physics became akin to those of Eastern philosophy.

Modern science has discovered a reality beyond the physical world, endorsing ancient Vedic teachings of Illusion, that Truth or Reality does not lie in what is seen but in what is unseen.

Vedanta deals with the Origen and the Beginning of Creation. Science based on material objectivity does not deal with the Origen of the universe, but only describes the early beginnings and evolutions, after the event. Science needs to build upon something that is "already there" - CRNS Scientist.

"The day science begins to study non-physical phenomena, it will make more progress in one decade than in all the previous centuries of its existence" - Nikolai Tesla.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Early Life in Hills and Forests

As a 5-year old child, in the late 1940s, the author was sent by his parents to an American-European, Seventh-Day Adventist boarding school in the Himalayan foothills and, subsequently, to an American Jesuit School. Sylvan Surroundings

The school was situated in a secluded area on a mountain slope rising to 8000 feet, overlooking a pristine valley below. One hardly saw another human being in the surrounding countryside, while leopards and, occasionally, Himalayan bears, prowled around at night in the bordering jungles, just behind the school buildings.

Cut off from the outside world, he grew up in the forest- clad hills amidst beautiful and serene surroundings. He recalls how his Greek Kindergarten teacher used to lead the little boys and girls into a forest clearing, to hold her class there. All this developed in him a lifelong love for Nature, preparing him to later comprehend the revelation in Creation.
