Babu Poorno Chander Mukerji was employed under the Public Works Department of the Government of the North-Western Provinces and Oudh during portions of the years 1887 and 1888, in making a survey of the ancient buildings and other antiquities in the Lalitpur Sub-division of the Jhasi District. His report is printed, as it is considered that the information collected and drawings prepared should be made available for distribution to officials and others interested. It is to be understood that the opinions advanced are those of the author, and that the work was not undertaken in connection with the Arecheological Survey of India.
