Rebuilding Ayurveda is an anthology of journal papers, newspaper articles, and blog posts authored by G.L. Krishna. The pieces elucidate the guiding philo- sophy of Ayurveda and forcefully call for a resuscitation of the reason-based mores pioneered by the Ayurvedic classics.
G.L. Krishna is an Ayurveda physician and researcher. Vexed with the pseudoscientific outlook of the Ayurvedic academia, he opted out of formal postgraduate studies despite being the topper all through his bachelor's course at the Government Ayurveda Medical College in Bengaluru. His research, now as a Homi Bhabha Fellow, is focussed on carrying out an evidence-based appraisal of Ayurvedic theories. He is also a isiting scholar at the Indian Institute of Science and the National Centre for Biological Sciences.
Rebuilding Ayurveda is an anthology of my essays published in various journals, newspapers, and web portals. The essays have undergone a few revisions here and there. If properly understood, the work has pathbreaking ramifications for the way Ayurveda is being approached, practised, and researched. Whether the path will actually break depends on the wisdom and ripeness of the Ayurvedic establishment. I remain optimistic knowing full well that there is little reason to be so.
