I am the only knower and the object of my knowledge is the Cause of this cosmos or that which pervades the universe. Though I am incapable of knowing myself, how will I know the creation, the creator, and the order of creation? The world, the worldly objects, and their creator are located far away from me. Everything is non- self. What is closest to me in this universe other than me? If "I" cannot be known, then what else is knowable?
With science, I ascertain the distance of the moon and the sun from me. With different names, I identify the planets. I work hard to know the realities of the planets and the earth. But I do not contemplate nor do I know who I am.
I always presume that I "know" the visible objects. But do I have the complete knowledge of any substance? All human knowledge of substances is laced with ignorance. Knowledge is assumed in ignorance or partial knowledge. Can the scientists ever know everything about a leaf from the descriptions of its features and qualities?
The mind does not know whether the "I" is of thumb- length or atomic or of body-length. I forever acknowledge I exist in this body. But inside which organ am I located. I cannot understand whether I exist in the brain, in the heart, or any other organ. If in the form of consciousness I pervade the body, then at one time why is it not possible to feel all the parts of the body? Feelings of the other body parts disappear the moment I focus on a particular part. At the time when my brain thinks, I become oblivion of my feet.
I am neither the agent of action nor am I aware of the functions of the body. I cannot control the activities of the internal organs, blood circulation, and digestion of the ingested food, respiration, and sustenance of the body. How do I presume I exist everywhere in the body?
