It is with great pleasure that I am announcing before the scholarly world the publication of Pandita Jagannatha's Rasagangadhara, a 17th century text book on Sanskrit poetics. It is a book, as the name suggests, on the delineation of Rasa (sentiment) which is a vital and dominant feature of Kävya. Apart from this book, Jagannatha wrote another book on poetics, known as Citra- mimamsā-khandanam. He is also credited with a number of stotra literature, such as, Lakşmi-lahari, Ganga-lahari (also called Piyūşa- lahari), Sudhā-lahari, and Amyta-lahari. He also wrote Pranabharana containing 53 verses and Bhāmini-vilāsa. His Yamuna-varņana-campū is unique in describing the river Yamuna.
