Dr. Soumitra Puzari is an Associate Professor in the Dept. of History, Jorhat College. He has completed 2 important research projects sponsored by the University Grants Commission on 'Printed Advertisements of Colonial Assam as Source of History' and 'History of Provincial Prison Administration of Assam'. Dr. Puzari is the editor of a Peer reviewed research journal. He has edited 3 books of History. He has 42 research papers published in various research journals and books. He was the state organizing secretary of Bharatiya Itihash Sankalan Samiti, Assam.
