Book Description
Preface

Nobody can deny the importance of natal astrology and the natal chart but the horary astrology is decidedly more important that the natal astrology is decidedly more important than the natal astrology. The former is used even in the rectification of the latter but it is not vice versa. While the natal chart can give us broad hints about good or bad period of the native it does not have any precise reply to his day-to-day problems. Even in the best of periods we have moments of anxiety and events of misfortune. The horary astrology gives us the genesis as well as the final results or its solutions.

Obsessed by such a great important of Horary astrology I tried to scan the market to find out some suitable books to be recommended to the beginners. To my utter dismay I found no useful books on the subject. The books are there but they are either a faithful record of successful forecasts made by their authors or merely a collection of planetary combination called the yogas from our esteemed classics. This disappointment led me to work hard on the subject.

In the Introduction I have simply introduced the subject and various processes and practices used by the astrologers. The aspects, western, eastern and the Tajika are one of them. The method of divination on the basis of the uncanny methods like the omens etc. have also been included in this part. The most important part of Introduction is a brief note on the inherent nature of the planets and their whims and fancies. It is at this point that the people generally make blunders in interpreting the chart. Jupiter, Mars and Saturn will not give the same results in the same way.

Chapter 2 is devoted to the working out of the ascentdants for horary astrology. Reference has been made to various methods used by the astrologers. They are from the direction occupied by the querists, their behaviour at the time of asking the question, asking the number between 1and 108 or 1 and 249. It is assumed that the practitioner of horary astrology is well versed in working out the lagna. No attempt has been made to explain the process as such but broad hints are available for proper guidance to him.

The other important aspect of the subject after preparing the chart is to see whether the chart has been correctly prepared. It would be reasonable to see it the chart reflects the question. In case the question is not reflected the chart has not been prepared correctly. How this can be done has been explained in chapter 3.

Chapter 4 to 15 have been devoted to the questions pertaining to various houses. I personally feel that there is not a single question which can be assigned to any single house. It always concerns more than one house. I have not tried to deviate from the traditional method but during the discussion of the problems I have not betrayed the reader. I have stated very clearly that particular question of its solution needs the Vibrations of houses relevant to the problem and those houses are more than one.

Besides dealing with general problems in chapters 4 to 15 I have added 3 chapters on which I have not found any material in the published books. The most important subject is the question of ghosts, evil spirits and curses. In public every body denides the idea of ghosts and curses but in private he dreads them most and consults witches practicing black magic etc. Apart from this there is the problem of unspelt out questions called the Mooka Prashnas. I have not dealt with the subject in much details because it is too vast a subject to be dealt with in one book, much less in a chapter. If the reader follows the hints he can understand how to read the question form the horary chart. The last subject that has been touched upon is the astrology of Muhurtas. This again is a vast subject and cannot be compressed into a few lines or few pages. Some basis guidance has however been provided to the reader.

In the last chapter, which has been christened as such I have tried to be personal with my valued readers and expressed my own personal views. I would, however, crave the indulgence of readers to go through these pages and decide for themselves how far I am justified in my view.

I commit myself to the faith that the readers are the best judges of the author. I have no comments to offer in this regard.
