About the Book
Sundarananda was an associate of Sri Caitanya and Nityananda. He is identified as Sudama in Krsna's pastimes and is one of the twelve gopala’s, who were associates of Nityananda. Sundarananda's disciple was Parni-gopala. Hari-carana and Kanu-rama were Parni-gopala's disciples. Kanu-rama's son was Gopala-carana. Nayanananda was Gopala-carana's son. Most of the descriptions for practice in raganuga bhakti deal with manjari-bhava in madhurya-rasa. This work is for aspirants of sakhya-rasa, following raganuga-sadhana. In this work Nayanananda follows after the priya-sakha Sudama, who became Sundarananda in Gauranga's pastimes.
