The thought process for writing a book on pregnancy took firm root in my mind when I first experienced motherhood. I used to answer various queries pertaining to pregnancy and childbirth, raised by various people and friends during long and short phone calls and visits. This led me to understand that, the basic knowledge about pregnancy among the general public, is still lacking which needed to be addressed. So, I steered myself to gather as much as information about this subject as possible from both national and international standards of care and practice to spread awareness and educate couples in pursuit of parenthood.
Even though there are plenty of books on pregnancy and childbirth, certain important concepts were still not addressed in many books. Recent updates and research studies have also brought in newer strategies in pregnancy and childbirth where yet to be written for the public. Many sources of information available on various platforms, may not be as scientifically sound as they seem to be. These factors persuaded me to concoct a book that is simple, concise, handy, up to date, scientifically sound, highlighting various new aspects across the pregnancy spectrum and childbirth with a hint of preventive concepts.
