Publication Board Assam was set up in the year 1958 by the Government of Assam with its aim and objectives of publishing rare and valuable books. Since its inception the Board has been publishing various books relating to Assam's history, culture, literature and other topics.
Dr. Praphulladatta Goswami,an emiment scholar, writer and researcher worked relentlessly in the field of language and culture. His works were executed equally in both Assamese and English language. He wrote several books on folklore in English and also edited many books.
Dr. Birendranath Datta, distunguished academican and writer compiled and edited the English writings of Dr. Praphulladatta Goswami alongwith the Assamese volume. We are extremely grateful to Dr. Birendranath Dutta for his devotion in the work of compiling and editing of Dr. Goswami's writigs. We also express our sincere gratitude to the familiy members of late Dr. Praphulladatta Goswami.
We hope, the volume will help students, scholars and academicians as well as general readers.
