I have authored some 66 works in Kannada; all these are published by Anathasevashrama in the Bala-belaku-sahitya-male. Other than these are quite a few plays, stories and novels which strayed into the hands of people and were left unpublished; countless are also articles published in various Souvenirs, Special Issues-etc. and broad cast over the All India Radio. Some are published as my Kannada translations of Marathi works. Among all these, some eight at nine of my works in yoga such as Suryanamaskara, Gurunamaskara, Yogasana, Pranayama and three works on ayurveda viz. Svayam-vaidya, Vanausadhagala Guna-Dharma: and Grha-Vaidya have, I am glad to say, become quite popular. All the proceeds from the sale of all my works are used for services rendered by the Ashrama and constitute a source of its income.
Many friends of the Ashrama have been insisting on publication of English translations of my works on yoga and ayurveda. In compliance, two of my works viz. Suryanamaskara and Yogasana have been issued in their English version. It gives me great pleasure that my book on Pranayama is now being published in its English translation.
Translation is an arduous work; it is also a skilled art.
