The text mentions curable and incurable diabetes. The physician has to identify the stage in which the patient is and then the apt treatment has to be done. Lifestyle and dietary habits are very important for a diabetic person.
Though Ayurveda conveys the basic concepts identically throughout the various classical texts, there are different therapies and medicinal combinations proposed by the Acarya's in each text. Hence a complete compilation was done from the major .four classical texts of Ayurveda, to understand and analyze the options 'available in treating this disease. This also helps us analyze comparatively the similarities and differences across the classical texts. Professionals have the option of following the text of their choice and a compilation in this manner helps us to pick the relevant topics required by the reader. The texts mentions simple changes in lifestyle and diet to major cleansing procedures. Separate treatment protocols for the rich and the poor is another special characteristic that the classical texts offer. Such a compilation has not been done before on Prameha with the complete indexing of the symptoms, and their frequencies. This book is a humble, to fill that void.
