The Prabhulila is an unpublished manuscript secured by the Mysore University (Oriental Research Institute, Mysore). Its author is Sri Immadi Gurusiddha Swamiji; an authority of the seat (Peetha) Brhanmutt; a famous religious institution of Chitradurga in Mysore State. His date is 1700 (A.D.). The Swamy (Guruji) was an erudite Veerasaiva scholar in Sanskrit that presided over the destiny of the Veerasaiva community in the 17th Century A.D. His tomb (Gadduge) is in Anantapur of the Andhra province. To edit a rare but faulty MS. like this or not to edit it was my problem. Thinking that the critical public would set it right in course of time I undertook editing this. Prabhu is deemed as the Avatara or the corporal form of Siva's Spiritual immunity and purity. His mystic powers and erudition together with his perfect mastery over the Veerasaiva philosophy (not the Saktivisstädvaita) is not a myth but a historical factor, Prabhu's original contribution to the Veerasaiva religion and philosophy is immortalised in his gnomic sayings inspiring even Basavesvara and other contemporary reformers of the 12th Century A.D. at Kalyan (Karnataka). In short, Prabhu is the epoch maker of reformed Saivism called otherwise the Veerasaivism. It is a pity that a natural reformation as Veerasaivism is interpreted as an unnatural antibrahmanic movement in the South.
