In aspiring to the honor of appearing as a historian, I, Amresh Vashisht, the author of this volume desire to record, in simple terms, the events from a particular period in History. The part of Indian history that has been touched revolves around the Sindhu Saraswati Civilisation and the Hindu Religion, to which I am associated by way of my caste, belonging to "Dhananter" (Dhanvantri) of Vashisht Gotra of Saraswati Brahmin mentioned in the Vedas.
I hope to bring my narrative into as small a compass as I can, consistent with the view I hope to present, in making known matters of Indian interest, which have hitherto, I think, been little thought of, or perhaps never heard of. As this book is intended for the general reader, I have tried, as far as possible, to leave nothing unexplained. And as I believe that civilisation is more than religion and art, I tried, however briefly, to cover all aspects of Indian life and thought.
I have simply attempted to tag, the three happenings during the prehistoric period, in one, i.e. The Lost Saraswati, Composition of Rig Veda at Saraswati Banks, and Mohenjo-Daro an exemplary infrastructure. All three are unique in world history. The eternal Vedas are the foundation source of all knowledge. The extent of civilisation and culture that is found in the Vedas is unique and Incomparable. The scholars have widely defined all three individually and excellently, but none tried to map the three in one. Looking at this civilisation with a linking the mentioned three happenings has appealed to me for decades.
