Peddabankur is a small village in Peddapalli district and is about 29 kilometres from Karimnagar. The early historical site lies on west of the village. The area covering Peddapalli and Karimnagar regions are studded with extensive archaeological sites ranging from Palaeolithic period to late medieval period, indicating continuous habitation of this region. Mesolithic tools and Neolithic tools were reported from this area, Kadambapoor is one of the megalithic sites that lies on south west of the early historic site Peddabankuru.

I was assigned the responsibility for conducting excavations in the field season of 2017-2018 at the early historic site of Peddabankur which I wholeheartedly believe that I carriedout with utmost sincerity, devotion and commitment.
Peddabankur¹ (Lat: 18°30′ N; Long: 790 30 E) village is located on the road leading from Karimnagar to Peddapalli and is about 29 kilometers from Karimnagar in Peddapalli Mandal and District, Telangana. A nullah known as Hussaini vagu encloses the site on the western and southern sides and the site gradually slopes down to the north bank of the nullah. The contour map shows the gradient and various features of the site. The site is 6 kms away from Peddapalli railway station.
