Patadei a Sahitya Akademi award-winning short-story collection in Oriya for its perceptive use of language and a deep understanding of the marginalised sections of society, may be regarded as an outstanding contribution to Indian literature. Binapani Mohanty has been active in Oriya literature for almost half a century now. She has already published twenty seven collections of short stories and three novels. She has also translated four books into Oriya from different languages. She has won numerous awards including Orissa Sahitya Akademi Award, Sahitya Akademi Award and Sahitya Bharati Award.
Ashok K. Mohanty is a translator and critic. He works as the Professor and Head of the Department of Business Adininistration in Berhampur University, Orissa.
