About the Author Federica Brambilla is a psychologist of Wellness and Psychotherapist. She has mastered the philosophy and fundamentals of Traditional Chinese Medicine at the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Vancouver, Canada and at the Fondazione Matteo Ricci in Bologna. She holds a master in Biotherapies for Psychic Disorders and a master in ANEB Psychosomatics. She has collaborated with the Ordine degli Psicologi della Lombardia at the working session "Unconventional Techniques" and as a freelancer with the services in her local territory. Among her publications Medicina Tradizionale Cinese e Psicoterapia Psicoanalitica (Traditional Chinese Medicine and Psychoanalitical Psychotherapy), published by Prospettiva Editrice. She has been following Dr. Weiss's seminars for many years and has gained the certificate/ completed the training in Past Life Therapy at the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies, New York.

Foreword I still remember it as if it were yesterday: it was a cold November night, the sky was full of stars and the moon peeked with its rays in my hotel room, creating a pleasing glare.

It was then the third year with the seminar The Reconnection in Italy and, after a long day as an assistant teacher, I was expecting a woman for a session while enjoying the evening-moon and stars included -with a great sense of belonging.

I welcomed Federica in the lobby: she was a young woman, visibly tired and worried about her existence and that of the people she loved. Beyond appearance, however, I could clearly perceive her intense and vibrant light, her greatness of ancient soul.

It was exactly what I call recognition of wandering souls, accompanied by the strong feeling of meeting someone whom I seemed to have always known, though we had only exchanged a glance.

At that moment I did the two things I was best at: during the session she had booked, I helped her to raise her energy vibration to see the events of her life from a higher and brighter perspective, and I shared with her what had been my path.

I told her how, a few years before, I had gone through a time of great personal crisis and how, by taking courage, 1 had followed the signs that God had wanted to give me. It was really thanks to that profound crisis that I began the journey in search of my true essence.

"I've always loved to wander around bookshops" I said, "browsing for hours, if not for whole days, searching for some interesting titles." That was a passion that Federica knew well and shared with me.

On one afternoon in 2008, my eye fell on a particular book, entitled Only Love Is Real. I immediately felt that it was what I was looking for, so I ran home and read it in one breath. In the following days I got myself all the other books by Dr. Brian Weiss.

These texts were the fuel I needed to go further, to learn more and to continue exploring.

Then, overcoming endless fears, I decided to take a plane to New York on my own, to meet Dr. Brian Weiss and follow his specialization course in Rhinebeck. I told Federica of that exciting journey in a place full of love and harmony, an experience that changed my life. She listened to me with interest and curiosity, and I seemed to read in her eyes: "Yes, and then? What happened after? What are you now doing here?". So I told her about the course on past lives: throughout many regressions, 1 had retrieved memories and parts of me which I then built in my present life, but I had also done a progression in the future. I saw quite a small planet, where the intense blue colour of the sea and the pristine green of the forest stood out. This world of peace was inhabited by beings of light that could choose to be more or less solid, more or less material. They took care of themselves and healed with light and with the high frequencies of love, without experiencing pain.

Introduction What am I doing here, sitting among hundreds of people to attend a seminar by Dr. Brian Weiss? I am a psychotherapist, sure, but I have no idea what hypnosis is, except for the theory I learned at university. Plus, I am deeply Christian, which gives sense, value and meaning to my life and to my work; so why have I come here, to a seminar on past lives?

It was Elena! Yes, it's her! Elena is a splendid and radiant woman, beautiful to my eyes: she has flowing, brown hair and a smile that lights up her face and strikes you before anything else, immediately revealing her soul, her essence... her joy. She is a fascinating person, who, like me, left economic studies to follow her path and on that occasion she visibly seemed very happy.

Why didn't I also feel like this at that moment in my life? My soul did not know. At the time I had a husband and a son (whom I immensely love) yet there was, and there is always in me, a note of melancholy. "Maybe it's a characteristic that belongs to me," I said to myself, "after all, I am ascendant in Scorpio. Work gives meaning to my life, but perhaps I share the pain rather than the joy with my patients. Could this be the reason? Or is it just that everyone has his cross to bear, and it sometimes weighs a little more?". At that moment every hypothesis was possible. Now, however, I recognize that my soul is always striving for something and hardly ever settles. Elena and I had shared many aspects of our lives. It was worth attending the course, if only for that meeting.

I have had the great opportunity to study the fundamentals of Chinese Philosophy and Traditional Medicine in Canada: this medical science has shown me how energy permeates life and nature as a whole, that everything is constantly changing and we have the possibility to achieve peace in our souls only by striving for balance. If opposites meet, a transformation leading to evolution will occur; the following step is then to look for a new balance.

During the first few minutes of Dr. Weiss's course, I said to myself: "I'm here to accept an opportunity, apparently in contrast with my beliefs, proposed by Elena, a friend to my soul." At first I was puzzled, but when I understood that even in a group each of us would have had the opportunity to work individually on ourselves, I decided to participate. I'm a curious being and I love working on me: finding myself, rediscovering myself and being ever more present to myself.
